Life is Full of Surprises

My boss gave a demonstration of the soon-to-be-launched site in a senior management meeting this morning. To better prepare for the demo, the team did several rehearsal yesterday and reminded our vendor to ensure a stable environment for the demo. I woke up at 6am this morning and went back to office early in the morning to check presentation venue and facilities. We again did a number of rehearsals and were quite comfortable and confident 'cos we saw that the website performance was good (except that we spotted a bug!)



When it came to the actual demo, my boss began as planned in the rehearsal but all of a sudden a feature really important didn't work. The atmosphere was kind of embarrassing as you could imagine. We switched to another server immediately and then the demo was fine. But you know it looked a bit bad and more importantly it was not doing us justice given all the preparation we have put in.



Well, this looks like a good lesson but what else we could do more next time? ... Let's move on ...
