Video Games

I couldn't remember when was the last time I went into a video game shop, probably not within this 10 years! Working like crazy these days, I suddenly felt like doing something unusual today after work. I had a light dinner in KFC (guess you'll think KFC meal is NOT LIGHT at all!) with my friend Alex. Spent 20 minutes in the video game shop together ... but to my surprise, most of the machines and games are pretty old already ... I can still see some soccer games, some fighting/action games ... and of course car-racing games are there too! Most people inside the shop are in their twenties. Alex and I are probably among the oldest, except the lady working in the shop.

Life in a Classroom ...

Couldn't recall if I've posted anything here about a management course I'm taking these few months. My company is sponsoring me to take a programme called Accelerated Management Talent (AMT) in the Richard Ivey School of Business's Hong Kong campus - which resides in the HKCEC!

There are four modules with 3 full-day classes in each module. The first module on "Leadership & Change Management" was done in Oct last year. I skipped the 2nd one on "Strategic Analysis & Action" last Nov 'cos of heavy workload in office. And I'm attending the 3rd module "Managing Financial Performance & Resources" this week (the last module on "Strategic Marketing Planning" will be conducted next month).

The leadership module was a relatively easy and manageable one. But I'm kind of lost yesterday when I was sitting in the lecture room this time on numbers. But I see improvements today probably because of the Cappuccino I brought with me to the class! I hope I've time tonight to do some pre-reading before I sleep ...

Mahjong

I play mahjong no more than 20 times since I was born - real amateur! Without bringing much cash except my guts, I joined 3 colleagues last Friday for mahjong on Friday evening @ 蘇浙同鄉會 in Central.

From 7:30pm till 1:30am, we played non-stop except the dinner time (merely 45 mins!) ... no special comments on the food (烤夫 was pretty good though) 'cos the dinner itself was not the highlight. It's kind of appetizer while the mahjong thing was the main course! OK, now back to mahjong. This time is really the very first that I played like this long hours ... and of course I was among the losers.
